FAA_A4 The replacement motor drive is factory-set in the 2 wheel drive position.
FAA_A5 This may be caused by a transfer case control module calibration issue. Check for DTC's and calibration version − there may be a software update from the Original Equipment Manufacturer. If the motor attempts to shift, but sounds weak, check the front axle lock actuator. If the axle lock does not engage, the motor cannot complete its engagement.
Connector Shape Square
FAA_A2 Yes, the transfer case should be manually shifted into the two-wheel drive position at the shift shaft before the installation of the replacement motor. Typically the positions are spring-loaded and can be rotated manually.
FAA_A3 A crescent wrench can be used for this operation.
FAA_A1 Do not operate the motor while it is off the transfer case. This can damage the motor and set an error code that must be cleared before the motor will operate again. Shift the transfer case into the position of the motor to install.
